Jogging Strollers for the Athlete in You

If you’re any thing like me, you have the best of intentions. You fully intend to start that new running schedule. You swear you’re going to start tomorrow–wait, no–the day after tomorrow and run every day after that.

But you don’t. Or you do a little bit. Now and then. But what really gets you is that freaking huge jogging stroller you just bought that’s currently taking up half of your living room/garage/hallway. It’s getting dusty.

So why not buy a jogging stroller based on how often you jog–how serious you are as a runner?

I don’t really run that often. Like, never. (I more often “walk very fast.”)
Consider the Baby Jogger City Mini. Not meant for full-fledged running, it does offer the suspension and maneuverability of a jogging stroller. And it closes like a dream.

I run once or twice a week.
Take a look at the BOB Revolution. It can be used for running and regular baby transporting. Plus the smaller wheels make narrow shopping aisles and elevators manageable. (Have you seen how big those wheels can get? Like an ATV motoring down the sidewalk.)

I run. At least three times per week.
This, my friend, puts you in the honored category of owning a jogging stroller just for jogging. None of this hybrid business. You can fully commit to a jogging stroller. The Baby Jogger Performance Single is a serious piece of equipment–the 20-inch wheels might make you forget you’re pushing anything at all.

Be sure to test strollers out in person before committing to one–and make sure it fits your running stance (so you’re not kicking the underside) and height. Because you certainly don’t need one more reason to avoid fitting that daily run in, you know?
